Description:
The focus of this unit is on examining the contexts in which people operate. Systems theory will be used to explore the relationships between the individual and their family, communities, organisations, institutions and societies. Cultural psychology theory and ways of working with various communities will also be introduced. The course relies on a diversity of learning methods encompassing adult learning principles, case study methodology, and student presentation on selected topics. Visits and visiting speakers will help provide a useful link to current issues and contexts.
