DTM5602 Metals, Materials: Design and Technology

Description:

This unit is a practical study of the production, form, properties and structure of basic materials and their related processing. Problem solving skills in a design context are developed by selecting appropriate materials and applying manufacturing processes to meet a range of problems. The unit explores the function, operation and maintenance of tools and machines in a safe working environment. Special emphasis is given to metal, but not excluding wood, polymers and composites.
