This unit emphasises basic communication and marketing skills for Indigenous organisations. Students learn the fundamentals of oral and written communication, how to speak clearly and effectively in public in Indigenous and non-Indigenous settings, and how to write plain English letters, e-mails, agendas, minutes, speeches and the basics of defamation law. Students are introduced to marketing concepts and are given practical instruction in the design and production of effective oral and written marketing materials. On completion of the course students should be competent communicators in Indigenous and non-Indigenous contexts and possess a range of marketing skills. Full Unit Outline | |||
