EDU5355 Teaching for Effective Learning
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit is designed to help teachers, learning support staff and educational design professionals in tertiary settings develop their skills and knowledge through the scholarship of teaching and learning. The unit positions teaching as a process that facilitates student learning. It poses the central questions: “How can I help adult students learn?" and "How can I help students become effective, lifelong learners?”. Participants will engage in self directed learning and will work collaboratively within relevant communities of learning. The focus will be on identifying, researching and developing improvements relevant to particular problems and dilemmas of teaching and learning that meet their own needs, the requirements of their teaching context, and the strategic initiatives of their institutions and professional organisations.
