Description: | |||
This unit examines the physiological and psycho-social effects associated with ageing, including investigation into the normal ageing process,as well as age related pathology and associated secondary complications. Emphasis is placed on health promotion and maintenance of functional independence for the older adult, as supported by evidence based practice. Students will compare the expectations of the population versus the individual as well as cultural variations. Students will be introduced to the physiotherapist's role in palliative care and oncology. Full Unit Outline | |||
