Description:

This unit examines the history, culture, and visual aesthetics of games. Topics covered include the role of play in human culture, the history of computer games, and social issues in game culture. In particular, students will explore the importance of visual research by analysing and evaluating the ways in which games draw images and narratives from history, fictional genres, and other media.
