CED4205 The Bible in Religious Education
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:

Christian faith is an encounter with Jesus Christ, the central person of the Bible. Therefore, an examination of books in both the Old and New Testaments is important to understanding Jesus.  This unit’s focus is on an introduction to the key books of the New Testament, the Gospels, in the Catholic tradition. The unit provides an understanding of the process that lay behind their formation, and why each gospel needs to be read through the eyes of religious faith. An important component of the unit will be an exploration of how the Bible is introduced in the K-12 religious education syllabus in Catholic schools.
