SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
Credit Points: 30

Description:

This unit provides a major engineering project for students in the Master of Engineering course.  The unit spans two semesters.  The unit will most often be undertaken with an industrial collaborator who will provide the context for the research and/or design tasks defined for the unit.  To complete this unit students are expected to be able to demonstrate an ability to undertake an in-depth study of a prescribed engineering research or design task while working in a supervised environment including both academic and industrial supervision.  The student is expected to work within a design team and demonstrate an ability to be a productive team member.  The results of the work will be included in a dissertation that will be formally examined and each student is required to make a formal seminar presentation outlining their work and the outcomes achieved.
