Students will examine probability and statistics as tools with which to understand the world, solve problems and collect, present and analyse data. Concepts of likelihood and certainty underpin stock market prediction, gambling, cyclone analysis and traffic planning, data collection, evaluation and daily decision making at personal, commercial, industrial and government levels. Working Mathematically and Number concepts will also underpin this unit. Ethical issues will provide a framework to examine chance and data in our daily lives. This unit is linked to work place practice and students will be required to link the theory from the unit to their observations and experiences in school settings. Full Unit Outline | |||
