PSY7207 Final Forensic Placement
SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIAL SCIENCE

Description:
This unit is designed to enable students to closely observe clinical and forensic psychologists and lawyers in practice and to undertake forensic psychology work under the close supervision of a registered forensic psychologist (wherever possible this will be the unit coordinator). Students will be directly exposed to at least two areas of law and the roles that clinical and forensic psychologists can play in those areas of law. Students will have the opportunity to observe psychologists practising in those two areas of law and will undertake their own case work (i.e., undertake forensic evaluations and submit reports on those evaluations to the court) in at least one area of law. Students will complete a minimum of 35 days of practicum placement (one day = 7.5 hours of case work and associated administrative duties).
