Description:

This unit is designed to appeal to people from a variety of discipline areas as a means of broadening their world view and their critical thinking about ideas and situations beyond their prior experience. This unit is especially designed for those where the application and management of innovative ideas has the potential to transform situations within the natural, commercial or community environment. In this unit, we will examine contemporary and advanced issues relating to the management of individual and group cognitive processes to provide innovative ideas and their application. This unit also provides alternative strategies related to the marketing of ideas within local and international settings.  The general aim of this unit is "learning by doing" and the unit is designed to enhance students' skill levels leading towards improved job opportunities.  The students will undertake the development of an innovative idea, and its associated implementation plan, in a context of their choice. Many innovative and entrepreneurial successes have been involved in tackling community problems, environmental threats, and business opportunities.
