This unit considers the principles involved in the analysis and adaptation of self-care, work, leisure activities and occupations to understand their component parts, their possible meanings to clients, and their therapeutic potential to promote the wellbeing of individuals and groups. It includes an in-depth study of the analytic and occupational therapy processes, including clinical reasoning, at the core of occupational therapy practice. It explores the ethical and legal requirements for accurate reporting, and the documentation of assessment and intervention outcomes are reviewed. Students will observe and participate in clinical settings and have the opportunity to develop clinical skills.
