Description:

This unit introduces students to the role of general practice nursing within the Australian Health Care System. Students will explore the fundamentals of the management of clinical services in general practice including: the use of information technology; data management; documentation, infection control and sterilisation procedures; accreditation processes; human and material resource management; legislative requirements and standards. The theory and practice of population health, including epidemiology, screening, immunisation, vaccination and health promotion will also be introduced. Students will examine legal and ethical issues related to the general practice environment.
