SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

The unit will focus on project time management which basically includes the processes required to ensure timely completion of a project. The unit will provide various methods and techniques for completing the primary processes of activity definition, activity sequencing, activity duration estimation, schedule development and schedule control. Yet such work cannot be considered in isolation to other knowledge areas within project management. Given resource constraints the longer a project takes, the more it costs. The longer a project takes, the more opportunities exist to change the scope. The more changes to the scope, the more costs and schedule increase. This unit explores these relationships in detail and examines various techniques for encouraging project success. Various software tools to assist with project planning will be used.
