SPS4210 Clinical Exercise Physiology

SPS3301 Physiology of Exercise 2 (Applied Physiology)
 
Description:

This unit provides students with both the theoretical and practical skills required for clinical exercise testing and prescription and is related to diseases of the cardiorespiratory, metabolic, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and immunological systems. Students are taught a basic understanding of the pathophysiology of the aforementioned diseases, together with the associated exercise responses for people with those diseases. Students study risk factors, complications (including medications) and co-morbidities that must be accounted for in exercise training interventions. In addition, attention is given to applicable diagnostic techniques and exercise assessment techniques used in the laboratory and in clinical exercise settings.
