PSY5322 Advanced Clinical Practice 1

Description:

The aim of this unit is to teach students how to report their clinical work, and to formally present this work to peers and colleagues. Links between clinical practice, psychological theory and research are emphasised. The unit will enable students to integrate clinical and academic aspects of training, and the focus is on clinical problems likely to be encountered in the third year of training and in the final placement. There will be an emphasis on difficult and complex cases, and on multiple modes of psychotherapy. Learning Contracts, agreed to between lecturer and student, will ensure that all core competencies and experiences listed in the Core Competencies Handbook have been acquired throughout the three-year program, especially during Doctoral level practica.
