SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:
The best schools are learning communities in which teachers research their own professional practice. In these schools, even beginning teachers are expected to work with their more experienced colleagues on action research projects designed to improve student learning outcomes. This unit develops the range of research skills teachers use in action research, including: interviewing other teachers; observing teaching; conducting surveys and focus groups; and analysing data bases of student outcomes. The Unit will employ practical exercises and have a strong outcomes focus.
