Description:
The unit provides a grounding in the study of curriculum design, implementation and evaluation. The implications of dynamic educational policy environments for curriculum development are considered, especially as this relates to middle schooling. There is a focus on assessment practice as an element of curriculum development. Attention is given to the use of assessment strategies to create a record of student achievement and the reporting of performance. The unit is intended to equip practitioners to critically examine curriculum and assessment practices.
