MUS1524 Music Techniques 2: Fundamental Principles of Baroque and Classical Harmony

Description:

This unit builds on students’ fundamental skills of music theory, harmony, introductory and basic composition. Students are introduced to systems of musical analysis and harmonic part-writing in the Baroque/Classical context. Commonalities and specialities of a variety of different musical conventions will be examined. Piano skills will be developed to support and apply the underpinning theoretical constructs.
