SEA0202 Working with Learners in Special Education Contexts

Description:

This unit provides students with current knowledge of theory, laws, policies and effective practices relating to working with learners with special needs in a range of educational contexts. An exploration of the concept of inclusion, barriers to inclusion, ways to promote successful inclusion and how to work in partnership with teachers, parents, students and other professionals in order to meet the needs of the child will be undertaken. Students will be introduced to the various specific education plans and the role Education Assistants (Special Needs) have in their development, implementation, monitoring, assessment and revision in order to assist in the achievement of chosen outcomes for each child.
