This unit introduces dramatic works and poetry as historical and aesthetic artifacts.
Students will investigate a range of political literary theories, and will develop theoretically informed close reading skills by examining literature as a concrete product of particular times and places. Students will learn to analyse texts both as documents from the past and as voices that continue to speak of desires and problems of today’s society.
