Y79 Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies)

For Registered General and Registered Mental Health Nurses (Hospital Trained or Tertiary Diploma)
 
This course is designed to enable registered nurses with a hospital-based or diploma qualification to upgrade to a Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies).  In doing so, students will develop their skills in academic and scholarly writing, plus develop a heightened understanding of social contexts and the diverse roles for professional nurses. The course requires twelve months full-time study or part-time equivalent which should be completed within three years of initial enrolment. Note this course does not lead to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
 
The course of offered on campus with some units available online.

Standard University entry requirements apply.

 
SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must be currently registered nurses, either in Australia or internationally, demonstrated by a current registration certificate.
  • International applicants are required to demonstrate a minimum IELTS of 6.0 across all bands.

 

 
COURSE LOCATION
This course is available on Joondalup, and Bunbury Campuses.

The Y79 course is only available part-time on the Bunbury campus. Students studying on an international student visa therefore need to undertake this course at Joondalup Campus.
 
MODE OF STUDY
This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following modes of delivery - On-campus, and Online.

External and Internal. Units are available in mixed mode.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of 120 credit points (eight units) of study comprising four core units (60 credit points) and four electives (60 credit points).
