CMM3104 Professional Placement 1
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15
Prerequisites:
Course average of 70%, plus a short assessment to be determined by the unit tutor.
 
Description:
This unit provides advanced students with the opportunity to undertake supervised work in a professional capacity. Students are responsible for finding the placement (except in journalism). Reporting back to the unit tutor, students undertake their attachment to a relevant workplace. The number of hours worked each week is negotiated between the student and workplace supervisor. A learning contract, entered into by student, workplace supervisor and tutor determines the specific content and teaching and learning processes, together with the skills and competencies to be acquired and demonstrated. A personal career-focused resume and portfolio will be developed by the student to reflect the professional experience.
