MSM3121 Museums and their Audiences

Description:
This unit examines practical strategies for the development and promotion of public museum exhibitions/programs, including marketing and audience development. The role of interaction in exhibitions/programs is also considered. Students are taken through the steps involved in planning, developing, installing and evaluating a museum exhibition/program and examine the processes and responsibilities that go with each stage. Issues associated with selecting, representing and interpreting cultural objects will also be discussed.
