Description:

This unit deals with the functioning of a national economy and examines the important macroeconomic issues and policies and their applicability in the real world.  News about economic growth, unemployment, business cycles, globalisation, foreign debt, capital flows, and exchange rate speculation attract intensive media attention and sometimes even trigger heated policy debate.  To understand what is going on requires a high level of economic literacy and analytical skill.  This unit provides the necessary economic knowledge for business students to engage in meaningful discussion of macroeconomic environments and understand their implications for businesses as well as providing some international comparative dynamics.
