MABUTR | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Y69 BACHELOR OF ARTS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Through contemporary and historic case studies the Visual Arts major examines the works of renowned artists and writers about art, culture and place. It provides opportunities to explore a diverse range of both two and three-dimensional materials and techniques, including drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Students experiment with ideas in and outside of the studios, learn to reflexively critique artworks, and create a portfolio of their own work. With the support of professional artists on staff, students learn to develop original and conscientiously created artworks in a variety of media that reflect their personal and community interests, identities, and creative aspirations. Students develop the confidence to exhibit publicly and to identify career opportunities in teaching, curating, independent studio practice, and with private and public arts agencies and institutions.
Admission Requirements: Students will be required to have a folio interview for the Visual Arts major.
NOTE: This is an intensive major comprising 16 units (2 years) of Visual Arts study. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
