Description:

In this unit of study students will refine and enhance communication skills in shared decision making, risk assessment, empathy, breaking bad news and interaction analysis. Critical awareness of the psychological, cognitive and affective aspects of communication skills will be investigated in relation to the quality and safety of midwifery care, the health team, and the cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of families.
