YWK3207 Ethics in Youth Work
SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIAL SCIENCE

Prerequisites:
YWK2402 Youth Work Practice 3 Youth Work Practice 3 (can be taken as a co-requisite). This unit includes a practicum and all students must have current Working With Children certification valid for the duration of their practicum.
 
Description:
This unit provides students with a range of frameworks for ethical thinking and the opportunity to work through a range of ethical principles and problems relevant to the youth work context. As well as the issues surrounding the professional relationship and ethical practice, students will debate the ethics of power relations, the nature of corruption and exploitation, and the ethics of accountability to employing and funding bodies.
