Prerequisites:
MAN2601 Employment Relations and
MAN2145 Human Resource Management

Description:

This unit provides a professionally supervised, contracted learning experience in either employment relations or human resource management which involves student learning in the workplace and learning activities with interactions and connections to the wider community. It emphasises the use of theoretical knowledge in applied situations that involve planning, researching, and presenting outcomes in written and/or oral form to both the host organisation and to student peers. Students complete a practical task for the host organisation that links with the key strategic objectives of the organisation and the studentís own learning objectives and integrates theoretical and practical knowledge. It is recommended that students take this unit in their final semester. Prior approval must be sought from the Unit Coordinator by the student before the Practicum commences; no retrospective credit will be given for unsupervised work experience.
