SST3230 Surf Culture

Description:

Surfing history from its ancient Hawaiian origins to the contemporary global phenomenon is considered at an academic level in this unit.  The science of anthropology is introduced through relevant cultural theories and the work of prominent anthropologists.  Students are challenged to investigate topics that are significant to the transformation of the surfing culture.
