ENS3170 Vibrations and Condition Monitoring

Description:

This unit builds upon prior knowledge of basic maintenance operations in mechanical and industrial systems. The unit provides students with a basic introduction to mechanical vibrations in addition to some of the instrumentation and techniques used to measure vibrations in machine elements. The ability to monitor or assess the condition of machinery through vibrations, the physical properties of lubricants and greases as well as non-destructive testing of materials is also covered. Basic machine tool maintenance and/or servicing is also included.
