This course is designed to prepare students for careers in the fields of computer and network security including areas such as computer forensics, information warfare and wireless security. The program focuses on the practical and theoretical dimensions of IT security across a range of fundamental areas such as network security and vulnerability assessment, information security, digital forensics, wireless device security and database security. Students will achieve a solid grounding in conventional computer and network security concepts and skills. In addition the course is designed to meet the changing landscape of secure computing which involves not only computers but also telecommunications networks and network enabled devices such as smartphones. |

COURSE STRUCTURE The course is made up of 360 credit points (24 units) of study. There are three electives in this unit, two of which can be taken at any year level, but one of which must be at second or third year level. Students are otherwise required to complete all units listed below. |
