PER1105 The Performer's Instrument
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit introduces the student to an awareness of their body and voice in preparation for performance. Experiential and highly physical, it explores methods and principles that have become foundational within performance practice. As well as developing an understanding of the neutral body and voice—‘putting oneself in a state of readiness’—it draws upon a variety of historical and contemporary practitioners and philosophies of bodywork that emphasise improvisation, discovery, and expressivity.
