ENS2107 Marine and Offshore Engineering and Design

Description:

This unit introduces students to the vessels, structures and operations involved in the offshore engineering sector. An overview of the offshore energy industry infrastructure is also provided. Hydrocarbon exploration and production techniques are reviewed, including systems engineering and marine system layouts. Offshore risk assessment procedures, offshore regulations and safety case preparation are outlined. Students will also develop an understanding of the marine sciences and their application to ocean engineering issues.
