WRT3220 Children Writing Creatively
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

Imagination and children almost seem to be synonymous, so children love to write stories. This unit focuses on how to harness children’s imagination at the same time as showing them how to write effectively. This unit examines different approaches to enabling children to write, as well as giving students themselves the opportunity to write creatively so that they can experiment with different styles and different voices. It is very much a ‘hands-on’ unit, and the need to be aware of different cultures and bilingual backgrounds is accentuated.
