MUE2110 Arts Literacy through Music Education

Description:

This introductory unit examines the role of music in the development of children 0-8 years.  Appropriate musical experiences, which incorporate the diverse needs of young children in various educational settings, are studied.  Fostering Arts Literacy through music including non-verbal forms of meaning making and communication is also a focus of this unit.  Through practical workshops, use of ICT and workplace experiences, opportunities are provided for preservice teachers to develop musical knowledge and skills.
