A68 Advanced Diploma of Music [Contemporary]

INTRODUCTION
This is a vocational program aimed at producing performers and writers for the commercial music industry. On completion of this award, it is expected that students will find employment as musicians in performing groups, the recording industry, television, radio, film/video and commercial theatre. Successful candidates may audition for other courses within the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

 

This VET course is offered by WAAPA as a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework. The Units of Competence from the nationally accredited Music Industry Training Package are clustered within the course delivery units. These delivery units form training in the industry areas of principal study, ensemble, styles and analysis, songwriting-arranging, concert practice, history, theory-rhythm studies, music production, aural, keyboard skills, professional practice, media performance and professional management.
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are required to undergo audition and interview before acceptance. Information relating to audition and interview requirements and procedures is available from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
