I61 Master of Event Management

The Master of Event Management is designed as a tertiary qualification for professionals working in event management, or those new to the field. It is designed to introduce students to the academic study of event management and to develop their skills, knowledge and experiences in relation to the marketing and/or public relations and communications strategies relevant for event managers, alongside conceptual and practical competency in the area of event operations management. It also explores the management of various event forms, as well as providing an insight into the other key business functions involved in event management such as financial and management accounting, the management of organisations and project management. The phenomenon of events in society, such as the cultural, economic and political impacts and meanings of a range of events, alongside motives and benefits for event consumers will also be considered.
