MAAACY  Visual Arts Major  

This unit set is available in the following courses:

The major in Visual Arts allows students to construct either specialist or inter-disciplinary pathways across a range of activities and workshops within the School's Visual Arts curriculum. The major facilitates the construction of a reflexive art practice focusing on one or more of the following specialist studios: Painting, Print Media, Textiles, Electronic Arts, Sculpture. 

This unit set is available on Mt Lawley Campus.
This unit set is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.
Students may commence Level One or Two units of their Major in the first and second semesters of enrolment.
Select 90 credit points (6 units) from the following:
VIS1302 Introduction to Studio Disciplines 15
VIS2601 Art in Context 15
VIS3503 Creativity and Reflexivity 15
VIS3505 Studio Research and Development 15
VIS3602 Studio and Professional Practice 15
VIS3604 Presentation 15
Plus 30 credit points (two units) selected from:
VIS2505 Printmaking 15
VIS2507 Sculpture 15
VIS2509 Painting 15
VIS2512 Textiles 15
Note: It is recommended that students intending to study the Visual Arts Major complete several of the following Foundation Program electives:
VIS1301 Introduction to Visual Praxis 15
VIS1303 Introduction to Drawing 15
VIS2506 Painting from Life 15
VIS2508 Photographic Printmaking 15
VIS2510 Glass Sculpture 15
VIS2511 Constructed Textiles 15
VIS3501 Praxis in a Globalised Visual Culture 15
Students intending to focus entirely in the Visual Arts rather than electing to study another interdisciplinary major can complete additional units from the list above to complete the requirements of the course.
