Description:

This unit provides an introduction to geometric optics, interference, diffraction, electromagnetic waves and thermodynamics. The properties and characteristics of light are developed to provide a sound scientific basis for the understanding of real world applications. Fundamental concepts and processes in thermodynamics are also explored.
