Students will analyse the impact of communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in the context of handicap (as defined by the WHO ICF II biopsychosocial framework). They will integrate and summarise background information in order to understand the consequences of these disorders across the lifespan. They will acquire skills at structured observation, structured interview techniques, and questionnaire administration. They will learn to work under hospital, home and community care conditions; and they will learn to integrate, interpret and report background information for individuals and groups of people with a range of impairments.
