SAN3124 Cities, Civilisations, Suburbs and 'Community'
Credit Points: 15

This unit examines the ways of life and culture found within cities and metropolises of the world, including the essentially ‘suburban’ Australian city where arguably a sense of ‘community’ and ‘belonging’, is problematic. The unit adopts a cross-cultural perspective and focuses on the different ways in which people create a sense of ‘community’ by way of life-style, sub-culture, and social networking which in many cases extends across the global village.
