Information Services Major

U67 BACHELOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 
 

Late in 2009, the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) will be invited to recognise the Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Services major) as a course which qualifies graduates to be eligible for ALIA membership as professional librarians.

 

Students wishing to qualify for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association upon graduation should include the Information Services major as their first major. It is not offered as a second major.

 

Library technicians, graduates of the Associate Degree of Science (Library Technology) (course M73) and the Bachelor of Science (Library Technology) (course E65), who wish to become librarians, will be eligible for advanced standing. They should consult the unit set coordinator.

 

Students are required to successfully complete 120 credit points (eight units).
