SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A recognised three-year undergraduate degree in a discipline other than archives and records is the minimum admission requirement for this course.  Graduates from all other disciplines are invited to apply.  Students with appropriate professional experience are eligible for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists and the Records Management Association of Australia if they choose to graduate with a Graduate Diploma of Science (Information Services) in this area of specialisation. 

 

Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate of Information Services (Archives and Records Area of Specialisation) or the Graduate Diploma of Science (Information Services) (Archives and Records Area of Specialisation) may apply for admission and advanced standing to this area of specialisation.

 

AREA OF SPECIALISATION STRUCTURE

Part-time students should enrol in either IST4121 or IST4163 in their first semester of study.

The area of specialisation will foster an understanding of records and archives management as inter-related record-keeping activities, building in a logical manner upon knowledge already acquired in previous units.
