In this course, students will conduct independent research and prepare a research thesis. The emphasis is on student-centred learning and high quality, confident and competent scholastic achievement in research. This course will facilitate independent thought, and will require the student to conceive, plan and conduct a piece of research, taking into account the logistical and practical aspects of conducting applied research. The work will be judged on its theoretical coherence, appropriate use of a research method, ethical conduct of the study and data collection, correct analysis of data, and appropriate conclusions and their relevance to justice, criminology, compliance or law enforcement. |

COURSE STRUCTURE This course comprises two years of full-time study or the part-time equivalent. The program includes two stages. Stage 1 requires the completion of 120 credit points (6 units). Stage 2 requires the completion of a thesis. |
