T21 University Associate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing for Re-Registration

INTRODUCTION

The mental health nursing re-registration program is for mental health nurses whose practice and registration have lapsed for five or more years and need to update their knowledge prior to seeking re-registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Letter of support approving entry into the program from the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia.

 
SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

This course is for registered nurses whose registration has lapsed for more than five years or for overseas registered nurses who the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia deem to require a bridging program before registration can be granted. A letter of suitability from the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia will be required before entry to this course can be granted.

The theory component of this course is only available off-campus.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course comprises one theoretical and one clinical practice unit, each of 15 credit points.

Note that the nursing practice unit requires the student to attend 10 days of clinical practice in an acute psychiatric setting.
