C20 University Preparation Course (Education Assistant Program)

The University Preparation Course (Education Assistant Program) is an enabling program that provides an alternative entry pathway to selected undergraduate teaching degrees at ECU.  The course is a one year part-time course that is designed to enable Education Assistants to understand how they can effectively support teachers in facilitating children's learning in a primary or secondary school setting.

The course is suitable for Education Assistants with experience, those contemplating working as Education Assistants, and those wishing to pursue further studies in teaching.

Australian Citizens are normally eligible for Commonwealth funding, meaning that the course is FREE – there are no up-front or deferred fees. The course is also available on a full fee paying basis.  Please contact the ECU Fees Office for advice. Students who successfully complete this 60 credit point course are eligible to apply for entry into an ECU Bachelor of Education and may receive 15 credit points (1 unit) of advanced standing into certain Bachelor of Education courses. For further information contact education@ecu.edu.au.
