I43 Master of Occupational Therapy Practice

INTRODUCTION

The Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is an accelerated two year program that provides an alternative pathway into the profession for individuals who have a suitable bachelor degree and some studies in human anatomy and human physiology. The course runs over four semesters plus additional time during the inter-semester periods to complete the minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice in a range of practice settings.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A relevant Bachelors degree. Other pre-requisites include completed studies in anatomy and human physiology. These units are available at ECU. Before undertaking any clinical fieldwork a student is required to have a Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record/Screening Clearance and a current First Aid Certificate.

 
SPECIAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

International applicants require an IELTS score of 7.5 with no band less than 7.0 or TOEFL score of 650 (paper based) or 280 (computer based).

This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.

It has a significant clinical practice component off-campus and students may be required to undertake an extended full time placement in a rural or regional area.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE

This course consists of 4 semesters (300 credit points) of full-time study or equivalent part-time study and additional weeks in the inter-semester periods to meet the requirements for supervised clinical practice.
