K16 Bachelor of Criminology and Juvenile Justice

This course adopts a contemporary international approach to criminology and justice education. It seeks to develop educated practitioners. Therefore, graduates will possess a significant background in contemporary theory and research that informs criminology and justice professions. They will also possess the skills that are required for entry level positions in criminology and justice professions. This dual approach will prepare graduates for positions of future leadership. This course also facilitates an understanding of how to help at risk young people facilitate their own social, personal and cultural development. Graduates will possess a significant background in theory and research that informs our understanding of young people. They will also possess well developed professional skills that are acquired in a field setting. Each body of knowledge and associated professional skills will prepare graduates for a diverse range of professions.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Standard University Admission requirements apply but do not guarantee admission to the Bachelor of Criminology and Juvenile Justice as the course is very competitive.

This course is available on Joondalup Campus.

This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.

Programs of study are offered full time, part-time, on campus (Joondalup). All criminology units are available to study in off-campus mode (on-line).
 
COURSE STRUCTURE

Students are required to complete 13 units (195 credit points) from their Criminology major. Students are also required to complete 11 units (165 credit points) from their Juvenile Justice major.

 

Units are required to be completed in strict year sequence (i.e., all first year units must be completed before proceeding to second year units, and second year units must be completed before proceeding to third year units).

(1) These units have been designed as full-year units to provide maximum flexibility to arrange appropriate timings for placement experience.
