WPL2101 Workplace Learning 1: Learning Engagement and Classroom Management

Description:

This unit incorporates and builds on observations and interactions from experiences within a school and classroom context to view and reconstruct students’ own professional learning and practices.  Action Learning will be a vehicle for students to explore current research and practices from the field to focus on an individual who presents a challenge in maintaining sustained learning.  Case studies and associate tutors will enhance students' continued building of professional pedagogical and management repertoires.  Students will be placed in pairs in a primary school context for 15 continuous days to engage in collaborative small group and whole class teaching and management practices, classroom observations, planning and assessing learning experiences and becoming immersed in the work of primary teachers.
